With the country still in lockdown, UK manufacturing remains in its lowest trough since records began nearly three decades ago.
The UK manufacturing purchasing manager’s index (PMI) came in at 40.7 for May, only marginally better than the 32.6 recorded in April. A PMI reading below 50 represents a contracting market, with anything over 50 indicating a growing market economy.
Amidst this slump, Silver Fox is growing, operating in new markets they have not sold to before, seeing business actually improve in this difficult time.
Managing Director, Nick Michaelson commented on the topic:
‘As the old saying goes ‘When the going gets tough, the tough get going.’ Like most SME manufacturers, we see all these numbers come out in the press about how UK manufacturing is at an all-time low, we should be scared for our jobs, our businesses, our wellbeing, etc; And yet the Silver Fox train keeps on moving. I am immensely proud of the Silver Fox team for looking at this epidemic in the eye and continuing to operate not at a reduced capacity, but a full one. Servicing our customers their projects around the world, and we will continue to do so.’
Silver Fox remains open for business, offering same day global shipping on market leading labelling solutions.
