Already a proud sponsor of Hertford Lions FC, a local grassroots football club dedicated to youth development, Silver Fox is now extending our support to the region’s academic talent by backing the University of Hertfordshire’s Formula Student team.
Providing World-Class Tools for a World-Class Team
As part of our sponsorship, we have provided the team with our industry-leading Fox-in-a-Box® thermal labelling system.
This is the same professional-grade kit used by motorsport teams across the world.
It will play a vital role in the team’s car build over the next two seasons.
Specifically, it will support:
- Wire harness labelling using our Legend LSZH Heatshrink, ensuring durable, professional-grade cable identification throughout the vehicle’s electrical system
- Asset management labelling using our Prolab Raised Profile labels, helping the team keep track of tools and components during builds and in the pit
In many cases, this will be the first labelling system these young automotive engineers have ever worked with.
By setting the bar high from day one, we hope to show how essential proper labelling is to the success of any complex engineering project.

About Formula Student
Formula Student, organised by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), is Europe’s most respected engineering competition for students.
It challenges teams to design, build and race a single-seat formula-style car.
Along the way, students gain vital experience in design, teamwork and project management.
The University of Hertfordshire team is led by Dr Howard Ash MEng PhD, Head of the Automotive Group, and has a strong reputation within the competition.
Known for their creativity, discipline and technical ability, they are a consistent top performer.
