Legend™ Tie-On labels that work in Castrol ON cooling fluids
As data centres move from traditional air cooling to single phase immersion cooling, fluids such as Castrol ON are playing a critical role. They are designed to improve cooling performance, cut energy and water use, enable heat re-use, and support more sustainable facilities. But changing the cooling medium changes everything around it – including the labels.
The hidden challenge:
labelling inside the tank
Immersion-cooled data centres still rely on clear, durable identification. Cables, harnesses, frames, racks and equipment all need to be labelled so that engineers can install, expand and troubleshoot quickly and safely.
In a single phase dielectric cooling fluid, those labels are fully immersed for long periods. That introduces two critical risks:
Label survival
The material, print and attachment must resist continuous contact with the fluid and remain legible over time.
Fluid integrity
Labels must not leach, swell, break down or otherwise compromise the properties of the cooling fluid that deliver higher efficiency and lower risk.
Proven resistant to Castrol ON Legend™ Tie-On labels
This means they can be specified for use in single phase immersion systems that use Castrol’s cooling fluids in data centres, giving operators confidence that:
Legend Laser Tie-On Labels
Printable using a standard office laser printer. Have been shown to be resistant to Castrol ON dielectric cooling fluid.
Legend Thermal Tie-On Labels
Printable using the Fox-in-a-Box thermal printer system. Have been shown to be resistant to Castrol ON dielectric cooling fluid.
Test Results
Legends remain clear and easy to read for maintenance and fault-finding. The label and print are engineered to withstand the immersion environment.
