FAQs
What are the technical specifications of Fox‑in‑a‑Box?

It features 8 MB of RAM, weighs 4.5 kg, and measures 231 mm (W) x 289 mm (L) x 270 mm (H). The printer connects via USB and is standard on 230v (with a 120v version available for North American customers). Its Harmonised System (HS) Code is 84433210.
What software is available to operate Fox‑in‑a‑Box?
Fox‑in‑a‑Box runs on the in‑house developed Labacus Innovator® software, available in Basic, Advanced, and Professional versions. The software is downloadable from the web, runs on Windows (Windows 7 64‑bit and later), and is optimised for 4K displays, ensuring a crisp and user‑friendly interface.
What thermal ribbon options are provided?
All Fox‑in‑a‑Box units are supplied with a 300 m thermal transfer ribbon. You can select from ribbons of different widths—110 mm, 60 mm, or 25 mm (model variants TSR3/300/110, TSR/300/60, TSR/300/25, respectively). The chosen ribbon width directly determines the maximum label width available for printing. For detailed guidance, please refer to the Fox‑in‑a‑Box Thermal Transfer Ribbon page.
Do I need an additional label guidance system?
Yes. Depending on the type of thermal labels you intend to print, an additional label guidance system is required. For printing Fox® or Fox‑Flo® labels, an LGS4 system is necessary, while Legend™ Non‑Shrink and Legend™ Heatshrink (continuous roll) labels require an LGS3 system. These systems ensure accurate label registration and consistent print quality.

Your Fox‑in‑a‑Box package includes essential accessories such as a USB printer cable for PC connectivity and a kettle lead for power. In addition, a quick start manual is provided, detailing recommended printer settings for over 160 label types to facilitate a smooth and efficient setup.
How is Fox‑in‑a‑Box maintained and what consumables are needed?

The included manual outlines optimal printer settings and maintenance tips, ensuring your system remains reliable and cost‑effective over its long operational life.
